About Master Class: 

This Masterclass will feature performances of works by Castello and Dowland on recorders, lute and harpsichord.  Italian harpsichordist and conductor Alberto Busettini will coach several of the ensembles from the harpsichord bench. This class is by invitation only for performers, but seats are available for auditors.

 

About the Instructor: 

Italian harpsichordist Alberto Busettini is Maestro di Sala for Early and Baroque Music at Tetro La Fenice in Venice.  He performs regularly as both a soloist and as an ensemble player in Italy and around Europe, often on precious harpsichords from European collections. Aberfoyle Baroque is proud to present Maestro Busettini as he coaches his first masterclass in the United States.

Dario Castello (c. 1590 - c. 1658)    Sonata Prima a sopran solo from Libro Secondo

Castello     Sonata Concertata for two soprano recorders

John Dowland   (1563 - 1626)  My Lord Willoughby's Welcome Home for two lutes (performed on lute and harpsichord)

Instruments: 
The harpsichord played in this class will be a French double built by William Dowd in 1976.
